We check what each listing actually includes against the Parco archeologico del Colosseo's own ticket types, and we measure how obtainable the official underground ticket really is by reading the Park's public ticket calendar. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours, hold no bookings and sell no tickets. Why this site exists
Search for a Colosseum underground tour and the results split into two kinds of page: the Park's own ticket shop, which shows a calendar and no explanation, and sales pages for a single tour. Neither answers the question the search is really asking — can I get in, and what am I buying if I can't get the official ticket.
So travellers book a listing whose title says underground and find at the gate that their option covers the arena floor. Or they spend weeks refreshing a shop where one seat in ten thousand is free. Both problems are solvable with information that is public and simply nobody collects.
Where the facts come from
Ticket names, prices and conditions are read from ticketing.colosseo.it, the Park's own shop, on the date shown. Availability figures come from the same shop's public calendar: we count the timed slots it lists for a ticket and the places still free in them, and we publish the window we counted. Raw counts are kept with the site so a figure can be traced back to the day it was taken.
Tour prices, durations, ratings, review counts, guide languages and cancellation terms are read off each operator's own listing, in US dollars. What a tour includes is read from the listing's inclusion and exclusion markers rather than its description, because the two are easy to confuse and the difference here is the difference between the tunnels and the deck above them. What we are not
This is not the official website of the Parco archeologico del Colosseo, and it is not a tour operator or a seller of travel. Tickets to the monument are sold by the Park; tours are sold by the operators and platforms we link to. Prices, availability and cancellation terms are theirs and are confirmed at their checkout, not here.
How the site earns
Some links to tours are affiliate links: if you book after following one, the platform pays a commission at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we write. Listings that do not enter the underground are marked as such on this site even when they are the ones that pay best, and the Park's own €24 ticket — which pays us nothing — is recommended first wherever a slot exists.
